How Lux is Empowering Communities
Overview
The Company prioritises ethical and responsible business conduct, valuing both internal and external stakeholders, including society and the environment. It is committed to giving back to society and engaging with the communities it operates in. The CSR Committee, led by Mr. Ashok Kumar Todi (Chairman and Whole Time Director) and Mr. Pradip Kumar Todi (Managing Director), oversees the allocation of the CSR budget and approves eligible projects.
The Company’s CSR focuses on healthcare, quality education for underprivileged and tribal children, sports promotion, and social welfare. It strives to be a responsible corporate citizen, driving positive changes through community development initiatives. CSR projects are primarily managed by Lux Foundation and collaborations are made with registered trusts, societies, or Section 8 companies for undertaking CSR activities.
CSR Initiatives

Education
The Comapny contributed ₹ 2 Cr. towards the building of a free residential school project for over 1000+ unprivileged girls in Joka, West Bengal.
The Company built the Saraswati Sishu Mandir School at Bali (Murshidabad).

Social Upliftment
The Company initiated the development of a restroom for the economically weaker section in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal.

Promotion of Sports
The Company supported the development of sports infrastructure in New Town, Kolkata, to promote sports.
The Company has extended its support to Mr. Anush Agarwalla, a talented young athlete representing India in Equestrian Dressage at Paris 2024 Olympics. Mr. Agarwalla is a Gold Medalist in Asian Games 2022 and an Arjuna Awardee.

Healthcare
The Company developed an Operation Theatre at Tata Medical Center by contributing ₹ 2.50 Cr. including infrastructure and medical equipments.

The Lux management is firmly committed to a policy of utmost safety. This includes all possible measures taken to remove (or at least reduce) risks to the health, safety and welfare of employees, workers, contractors, authorized visitors, and anyone else who may be affected by our operations.
Responsibilities
Management
Lux strives to provide a safe working environment with safe systems of work, made possible through plant and substances being kept in safe condition and the provision of adequate facilities for workers' welfare. This is made possible through proper information, instruction, training and supervision.
At Lux Industries, a commitment to consult and co-operate with workers in all matters relating to health and safety in the workplace is practiced as well as ensuring 100% safety and security of female employees and workers.
Workers
Workers are not only encouraged to take care of the health and safety but also to comply with safe work practices so as to avoid injury to themselves and others and damage to plant and equipment. Wearing personal protective equipment and clothing and complying with management’s directions for health and safety is imbibed in our workers.
At Lux Industries all accidents and incidents are reported immediately, as well as the misuse of anything provided for health and safety is discouraged. The cooperation of all employees, workers, customers and other persons is sought for the application of this practice.
Application of this Policy
Lux Industries encourages suggestions to realise our health and safety objectives for the creation of a safe working environment with a zero-accident rate and this includes when workers are required to work off-site."
Corporate Social Responsibility
A core guiding principle of the Lux Group is to make a difference in society by sharing our success and giving back in equal measure. At Lux Industries Limited, we recognise the need for sustained progress of the society to pursue long term goals that are beneficial for the community.
During pilgrimages, the availability of basic resources such as food and drinking water is scarce. This predicament of the devotees embarking on religious journey is aided by Lux Industries providing clean drinking water and food.
Lux Industries has also developed the Bangur Avenue Sansad Bhavan in Kolkata which is a 'Dharamshala' (rest house) for pilgrims where we provide free lodging, food and water.
Commitment To the Society
The Lux group is committed in sharing its business success with communities. The value of corporate citizenship is rooted in responsibility to society and polity therefore Lux adheres to the best industrial practices, adopting the best technologies and environment-friendliness.
Some of the most important engagements for the Lux group have been through the installation of bins in various areas to make the environment clean and safe as a part of the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan.
Lux also focuses on education, healthcare, rural infrastructure development, support for the socially and economically backward group, animal welfare, environmental protection and the promotion of traditional arts and culture. In keeping with these values, the company has built the Saraswati Sishu Mandir School at Bali (Murshidabad), to provide quality education to local children. Promotion of Sports
We are delighted to announce that our company has extended its support to Anush Agarwalla, a talented young athlete representing India in the prestigious sport of Equestrian Dressage at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Anush Agarwalla, with his remarkable achievements including winning a gold medal in the team event and a bronze medal in the individual event at the 2022 Asian Games, has secured India's first quota in equestrian sport for the upcoming Paris Olympics, demonstrating exceptional dedication and skill in his field. Mr. Agarwalla was honored with the Arjuna Award by the President of India on 9th January 2024.
Recognizing the importance of nurturing talent and supporting the aspirations of promising athletes, our company has contributed Rs. 2,55,00,000/- (Two Crores and Fifty-Five Lakhs Only) towards Anush Agarwalla's Olympic journey. This funding will significantly assist Anush in covering essential training expenses, including travel, equipment, and notably, the expenses associated with his equine partner.
As a responsible corporate entity, we are proud to announce our inaugural support for an athlete, aimed at fostering excellence in sports and empowering athletes to reach their full potential on the global stage. Our backing of Anush Agarwalla reflects our steadfast belief in promoting sporting talent and contributing to the success of Indian athletes at international events.
